The Earth Institute has developed the Sustainability Essentials Training
Program for people who wish to explore the concepts and principles of
sustainability and who want to learn how to introduce sustainability
practices into their organizations, new projects, and other aspects of
SET is a 40-hour, non-credit training Program designed to address the four central areas of achieving sustainability. The Program offers well-designed lectures and participatory learning experiences designed to address four key questions:
- What is sustainability and how does one manage it in any organization?
- How can government policy and regulation speed the transition to a sustainable economy?
- How do we create a built environment, including workplaces, buildings, and infrastructure, while conserving water and energy and reducing environmental damage?
- How can we finance sustainability initiatives that may be risky and involve a long time gap between investment and pay-off?
