The April 23rd Columbia University Superfund Research Program (SRP) Seminar will include two presentations related to arsenic exposures: one biomedical and the other geoscientific. David C. Christiani, Co-Principal Investigator of Harvard’s SRP and Elkan Blout Professor of Environmental Genetics, Harvard Medical School and School of Public Health, will give a talk on, “Arsenic exposure, genetic susceptibility and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus”. Michael Berg, Research Group Leader with Eawag, Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, will present, “Arsenic in Vietnam's drinking water resources, exposure levels and mitigation”.If you are planning to attend by car, please contact Sandra Yoshida (syoshida@ldeo.columbia.edu or 845-365-8301) so that she will add your name to the guest list for the security guard at the front gate.
