Description:
The IRI has been collaborating with the Mahaweli Authority of the Government of Sri Lanka since January 2000 to explore the use of seasonal climate forecasts for water resource and environmental management. We study the use of climate information in the study of environmental and societal impacts of climate. We also are developing hydro-climatic prediction tools. Our goal is to contribute to a monitoring and prediction system that integrates seasonal climate, hydrological, and demand forecasts to assist decision-making.
