An initial core activity of the Cross-Cutting Initiatives is a seminar series that addresses the question “Is Sustainable Development Feasible?” The goals of the seminar series include bringing together a group of faculty, research scientists and students who are interested in working across disciplines to address the major challenges of sustainable development and to communicate the issues of sustainable development to a larger community, primarily that of Columbia University. For the fall 2009 semester, the series focuses on climate change.
